Climate Ethics and Real Climate Make Time Magazine's Top 15 Green Websites
Two websites created by Penn State researchers, Real Climate and ClimateEthics, were named in Time Magazine's list of top 15 green websites. The list was published in Time's April 28, 2008 Special Environment Issue. According to Time, "Covering Hollywood to the Hill, these 15 websites teach you everything you ever wanted to know about greening your life."
Real Climate (www.realclimate.org) was co-founded by Michael Mann, associate professor of meteorology and director of the Earth System Science Center. The website is "a commentary site on climate science by working climate scientists for the interested public and journalists and aims to provide a quick response to developing stories and the context sometimes missing in mainstream commentary."
ClimateEthics (www.climateethics.org) website is part of the Rock Ethics Institute's initiative on the Ethical Dimensions of Climate Change and is a commentary site on climate change science and policymaking by those working on climate change ethics. Penn State reseachers collaborating on the site include Don Brown, associate professor of environmental ethics, science and law, Nancy Tuana, DuPont/Class of 1949 professor of ethics and director of the Rock Ethics Institute, and Erich Schienke, Rock Ethics Institute postdoctoral research fellow.
