Derek Hall's Ph.D. work focused on the development of an electrochemical energy conversion process for producing hydrogen gas within a thermochemical cycle for the Argonne National Laboratory, and his postdoctoral work involved validating water chemistry programs for power generation units using electrochemical methodologies for the Electric Power Research Institute, and the development of a new standard Gibbs energy model for aqueous species for hydrothermal systems above and below the critical point of water. Hall’s research interests include electrochemical energy conversion systems, electrochemical sensors, and the study of liquid-solid interfaces.
