DeWalle Elected AWRA Fellow

David R. DeWalle was elected as a Fellow Member of the American Water Resources Association (AWRA) at the Annual Conference held November 3-6, 2003 in San Diego, California.

AWRA is a non-profit professional association dedicated to the advancement of men and women in water resources management, research, and education. Its mission is to advance multidisciplinary water resources education, management and research. Founded in 1964, it is the professional home of a wide variety of water resources experts including engineers, educators, foresters, biologists, ecologists, geographers, managers, regulators, hydrologists and attorneys.

DeWalle has a long record of membership and service to AWRA that began with his joining the organization in 1980. His activities include serving as the faculty advisor for the AWRA Penn State Student Chapter, and as a member and officer of the AWRA Pennsylvania State Section. He was an Associate Editor of the Journal of American Water Resources Association (JAWRA). He has served as a member of several national level AWRA committees including the Long Range Planning Committee and the Student Affairs Committee. From 1998-2001, he was a member of the AWRA Board of Directors. Since serving on the Board, he has continued service to AWRA on both the state and national level, most recently serving as a member of the Conference Planning Committee for the 2002 AWRA Annual Conference held in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania .

DeWalle is a professor of forest hydrology in the School of Forest Resources , associate director of the Penn State Institutes of the Environment (PSIE), and director of the Pennsylvania Water Resources Center (WRRC).
